There are a great many methods that a person can adopt if they want to keep their physical and mental wellbeing intact at all times: this is essential to be able to face the issues of daily life without any kind of difficulty.
In addition to the sporting and toning activities we mentioned earlier, you can also maintain your physical and mental wellbeing with simple activities; this means changing your habits in a positive way so that you no longer have any problems in this respect.
An example of changing one’s habits can certainly be meditation, which is one of the best methods for achieving the much sought-after mental and physical wellbeing: half an hour of meditation a day, according to doctors and psychologists, can make all the difference in this respect, giving peace of mind and light-heartedness.
There are so many consequences of underestimating the importance of psychophysical wellbeing, which is why it is always good to pay attention to your body, giving due importance to everything you feel from this point of view.
One of these is depressive disorder with an anxiety component.
This subtype is characterised by the presence of certain specific symptoms, which must be at least two, present for most of the time of the depressive episode (major or persistent). These include
- feeling tense, on pins and needles
- Inability to relax, to rest;
- difficulty concentrating, because of the feeling of constant worry;
- feeling that something unpleasant could happen at any moment;
- feeling of losing control of the situation in a general sense.
Thus, there are some features in common with generalised anxiety disorder (e.g. decreased attention, feeling on tenterhooks, difficulty in concentrating due to worry, constant fear).
It is then necessary to specify whether all or only some of these symptoms are present, so as to be able to distinguish a mild, moderate, moderate-severe or severe picture: the concept of severity is therefore always related to the number and intensity of the symptoms present.
In fact, the symptoms of depression interface with multiple conditions: when we move into this area, we find ourselves in very specific territory related to depressive disorders, but the symptoms of depression may also be associated with other psychiatric conditions. For example, depressive symptoms may be associated with general medical conditions, substance abuse, a range of psychopathological conditions or not belonging to other domains (bereavement, life problems in a general sense, sadness, anxiety disorders).
